There's a Windows 11 24H2 device detection bug associated with CR-Series scanners which Canon and Silver Bullet Technology are aware of.

After the update, symptoms might include:
- Scanner not appearing in device manager.
- Not being able to scan with the Canon Scanning Utility or Ranger Flex.
If your scanner stopped working after installing the Windows 11 24H2 update we recommend the following:
- CR-50/80/L1: upgrade the Ranger plugin to 2.1.1.62 or higher.
- CR-135i/190i/190ii: upgrade the Ranger plugin to 2.1.2.21
or higher. - If the above doesn't work, or your scanner isn't listed:
Please attempt the following - Download the latest Canon driver for the respective scanner.
- Restart the WIA service.
- Refer to the following article: "Windows 11 Scanner USB Connection Issue imageFORMULA Scanners"
- If the issue persists, try disabling the service.
- Download and run Canon's registry fix tool.
- It may be named something like "DR_RegistryFix.exe_download.xml" under "Software & Driver Results."
- Restart the scanner and attempt to initialize and scan in Ranger Flex.

Please note: with all Canon models, a proper reboot of both computer and scanner is recommended after installation.
