Where can I find my Ranger product key in the Windows Registry?

If you used a volume license to unlock your Ranger product, it will NOT be in the registry.

You can find a License.dat file at C:\Program Files (x86)\Silver Bullet Technology\Ranger\Scanner plugins\[scanner model]
Note: You'll have to send this file to Ranger technical support

Open a Windows "run" prompt by pressing the Windows key + R or Search for "Run" in the Start Menu
At the Run prompt, type in "regedit" and click OK
You may be prompted by Windows to allow the registry editor to make changes; choose "Yes."
On the left hand side of the screen, there will be a "Tree" menu. In that tree, look for:

32-bit Windows - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Silver Bullet Technology\Installed Products\Components

64-bit Windows - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Silver Bullet Technology\Installed Products\Components

You should be able to find your Ranger product key by examining the folders.

Look for a 25-character code in this format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-X

That's your Ranger product key.
