Why am I unable to re-install the MVX Ranger drivers?
According to Panini support, their 2.x installer needs to run at least a couple of times to clear up some registry settings.
The Panini 2.x installer should be located in the following folder:
- C:\Program Files\Silver Bullet Technology\Ranger\MVX\API Files\driver
In that folder is a file called Setup.exe
When
invoked, the Setup.exe installer responds based on what it finds
already installed. It may prompt you to remove a prior installation or
it may just progress as a normal install. According to Panini, you
should run the installer repeatedly at least until you have completed
one full cycle of remove, then reinstall. That one complete cycle should
be sufficient to straighten things out.
If you have an MVX driver installer that keeps running the uninstaller each time Setup.exe is run instead of alternating between installs and uninstalls, do the following:
- Go to the "Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information" directory
- Move the sub directory {68FF4E69-53DC-485C-ADD9-E56FF9A406F8} to a
different "save" directory - You can also delete the original sub directory all together.
- Then the Setup.exe should run in "install" mode next time.
