Why is my CaptureOne is pausing in the middle of a batch?

Epson's website lists the PC requirements as:
CPU: Pentium 4, 1.2 GHz or more
Memory: 256 Mb or more
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000 professional SP4
Microsoft Windows XP Home/Professional Edition SP2
Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit)
Home Basic/Home Premium/Ultimate/Business

Our results varied quite a bit depending on the machine running the test.  I will use two machines in my comparison here.  Both are running Windows XP service pack 3.  Ranger version 2.3.5 on both machines, with the same TM-S1000 attached to both.

The first PC is running at 1.86 GHz with 1 GB RAM.  I ran 70 checks through a TM-S1000.  There was no pause, and it was running at about 61 DPM.

The second machine is running at about 1.28 GHz with 256 MB of RAM. I ran 70 checks through a TM-S1000.  There were 3 pauses, and it ran at about 35 DPM.  The pauses were similarly spaced to what you described (19 checks, 17 checks and then 16 checks).

Our machine that was experiencing the pauses was very near those minimum requirements.  The API for CaptureOne is much more demanding on a PC than some other scanners.
