Will my application require changes if I attach a new check scanner?
Your applications will plug-and-play with new check scanners provided
that your programmers follow our development guidelines and they do not
make any invalid assumptions about the scanners that they can be running
on. For example, applications should ask Ranger how many pockets the
check scanner has, rather than assume it has two pockets. Some scanners
have one pocket and some have a large number of pockets. Therefore it
is possible for programmers to make their applications non-portable.
However, most applications can run new check scanners without changes.
